This new transmission system takes full advantage of the Malossi components already on sale last year, by adding several new parts that make the entire system particularly suited to the enormous power available. This latest system hinges on the new Fixed Pulley of the torque driver that has a larger diameter and the very latest specifications. The larger diameter of this pulley allows one to have a greater velocity-ratio range compared to the original pulley that has a notably smaller external diameter. Malossi engineers have also taken particular care in realising this pulley right down to the smallest detail, using special materials and a particular type of thermochemical treatment that ensures exceptional surface hardness and therefore excellent wear and abrasion resistance. This new fixed pulley has been designed to offer perfect running if coupled to the Malossi Torque Driver that is already available and has the same diameter as the fixed pulley itself. In order to fully exploit the range of the new torque driver unit and the power ratings currently offered by competition machines, a new notched Kevlar Belt has been introduced with larger section and revised length to ensure maximum performance under all running conditions. To complete the renewal of the transmission system and take full advantage of its exceptional specifications, the Multivar variable-speed drive has also been upgraded by fitting it with new tracks for the rollers and a new hub. This new variable-speed drive represents the evolution of the previous generations, the result of many years experience on the race circuit and the currently available CAD-CAM technology that allows top-level specifications to be obtained. The whole completion of the OVER RANGE system provides for the patented adjustable clutch Delta Clutch and the Malossi reinforced clutch cap Safety Bell Clutch. New Malossi reinforced clutch cap SAFETY CLUTCH BELL art. 77 9218 is now available for scooters 50cc. The Malossi reinforced clutch cap has the function of protecting the user from a possible explosion of the clutch assembly. This protection was introduced at first in the racing scene, where this dangerous occurrence was rather frequent due to the high number of revs normally reached. Indeed, it is known that the centrifugal force developed by the rotation of a system increases to the square of the number of revs. - Considering that normally the clutch assembly has a rotating speed of about 12.000 rpm, in particular conditions it may reach and exceed 20.000 rpm, and cause the explosion of the clutch assembly. Therefore, Malossi recommends the use of this high-tech product to anybody using scooters in order to ensure its highest safety.

The innovative elements of this new MHR variator for OVER RANGE are:
- far better running (running further improved);
- rollers from Ø 16x13 to Ø 19x15.5 , to grant a longer gear curve;
- reinforced variator structure on bushing side, to allow greater stability and length in gear curve.

Each electronic coil model was expressly studied for the scooter it will be fitted on, and this is the reason why after endless tests on the bench, on rollers and on the racing track an optimal start up map (fixed or variable) has been prepared in order to obtain the best performances of the vehicle. The Malossi electronic coils were designed to allow also a very easy assembling, since they are interchangeable with the original boxes. They are compact and ergonomic, so they can be connected perfectly to the original connectors.
Furthermore, these coils allow the elimination of the rpm limiter installed on some standard power boxes, enabling in this way the full exploitation of the engine's power and torque even at the highest regimes, up to 20.000 rpm. These electronic coils are based on capacitive discharges, therefore they allow maximum limitation of circuit transients during voltage discharge, while obtaining a virtually perfect peak voltage on the spark plug (35.000 - 50.000 volts depending on the engine regime); moreover they grant extremely high discharge voltages and currents with surprising steadiness with respect to engine rpm variation.

TECHNICAL NOTES : the kit contains a 99.5 mm diameter mobile half pulley made of a special cast aluminium alloy. The contact surface between pulley and belt is super-finished with a diamond tool to guarantee a constant coefficient of friction, calculated to prevent both belt slip and premature wear. To satisfy the innumerable calibrations required by racing scooters, depending on track type and tuning of the motor, the kit contains 2 series of 6 rollers set and a counterspring in pre-hardened silicon-chrome steel alloy with counterclockwise (racing) winding. In addition, other springs of the same class with different loads are available as options.
Suggestions for the setting
The variator is supplied with two different roller sets: one of 3.9 gr. and one of 4.7 gr. in order to change the number of revolutions of the gear curve of your vehicle perfectly adjusting its speed and acceleration.
